UGA Graphic Deign Club
BRAND IDENTITY AND TEAM LEADERSHIP
The Graphic Design Club at the University of Georgia fell defunct during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. When I entered the program in 2022, I saw an opportunity to bring it back.
I reestablished the club by working with university administration to re-register the organization and recruit members. I built and managed an executive board with clear roles and responsibilities for each member.
I designed the club logo and directed the complete brand identity system, including color palette, typography, visual elements, and social tone, ensuring consistency across all communications. I also led strategic planning and execution of club events, including monthly design workshops and industry guest speaker sessions.
Role: Founder, Club President, Lead Graphic Designer
Logo Design
The concept began with the intention to craft a logo that embodies the energy of design. The asterisk represents “the spark of inspiration” that’s the core of every creative idea and design execution. Orange represents determination, encouragement, creativity, and expression – the perfect match for our purpose as a club.
From there, the logo began to take form, bringing the spirit of the Graphic Design Club to life.
Social Media
We launched our social channels with two main goals in mind. First, to recruit new members with open invitations to any fairs or meetings around campus. Second, to keep our members informed about any upcoming events, meetings, and guest speakers.
Club Events.
I led event planning for monthly workshops and speaker sessions that connect members with alumni and industry professionals.
November workshop: Hilda Hermosillo (UGA alum) and Rey Pîna (SCUF Gaming) on advertising and packaging design
Monthly workshops feature branding exercises, collaging, and design challenges in a collaborative, experimental setting.
